Deflation at 4.2 percent
Consumer prices in Latvia, compared to January, remained the same.
Prices for goods year-on-year were down by 3.9 percent, by 4.8 percent for services.
Experts interviewed by "Nozare.lv" say that statistics on individual goods will show no major changes, and the trend will continue - prices will drop.
"SEB banka's" Edmunds Rudzitis predicted that in February there could have been a 0.1 percent drop in prices, compared to January, but the annual deflation rate could be at 4.3 percent.
"Sales will continue for various merchandise, but food prices will be unchanged, Rudzitis said.
"DnB Nord banka's" Peteris Strautins predicted a slight dip in prices, adding that they will not change much all of this year.
