Ernests Gulbis defeated Michael Llodra in the second round of Montreal ''Masters 1000'' series tennis tournament

Yesterday, Latvia's top ranked tennis player Ernests Gulbis defeated Michael Llodra (France) in the second round of Montreal ''Masters 1000'' series tennis tournament or "Rogers Cup".

The match was slightly delayed due to rain, and Llodra withdrew when Gulbis was ahead 6-4, 1-0.

At the moment, Gulbis is ranked 55th in the ATP tennis rankings, whilst Llodra is ranked 31st.

Gulbis earned 90 ATP ranking points for qualifying for the tournament's third round, where he will play the sixth-seed Mardy Fish (United States).

Gulbis and Fish already clashed two weeks ago in the finals of Los Angeles "ATP World Tour 250" tournament, and the Latvian emerged victorious, achieving his second ATP singles title.

As reported, in the first round of the tournament, Gulbis defeated Juan Carlos Ferrero (Spain) 3-6, 6-1, 7-5.
