NB8 Foreign Ministers Meeting to be held in Riga
During the meeting the minister will be presented with the Report on the Baltic and Nordic Co-operation produced by two high level representatives from Latvia and Denmark - former Latvian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Valdis Birkavs and former Danish Minister of Defence Søren Gade, both authorized for the task by NB8 foreign ministers.
The agenda of the meeting also includes topics of international significance, such as recent developments in Afghanistan, the development of the NATO Strategic Concept, and preparations for the OSCE Summit.
This year, the annual NB8 Foreign Ministers Meeting is organised by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia as co-ordinator of the Baltic-Nordic co-operation for 2010. This is the first time that Latvia has assumed the co-ordinating function for NB8.
