Latvia recognizes Georgia’s neutral travel document

On 27 January, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Latvia took a decision concerning the recognition in Latvia of the status neutral travel document of Georgia. Thus internal procedures for recognising the document have been completed, and, when the General Secretariat of the Council of the European Union has notified all the member states of the Schengen Agreement about the decision, legal residents of Georgia’s separatist regions Abkhazia and South Ossetia – the holders of the neutral travel document will have the same possibilities as Georgian citizens to apply for entry visas at the diplomatic and consular missions of Latvia.
