Prime Ministers of Latvia and Ukraine will discuss the improvement of economic cooperation

On Friday, February 10, Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis will hold a meeting with Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov. The officials will discuss the opportunities for improving the economic cooperation, transit issues as well as relations between Ukraine and the EU. At the conclusion of the meeting, representatives of the parties will sign several cross-sectoral agreements.

One of the documents to be signed is the Economic Cooperation Program 2012-2013 between Latvia and Ukraine. It provides for extension of bilateral economic, industrial and scientifically-technical cooperation in the spheres of mutual interest and the most perspective directions for development of future cooperation.

The Program on Cooperation in the Field of Science and Technologies and the Memorandum of Understanding between the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia and the State Agency for Investments and National Projects of Ukraine will also be signed.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine will pay an official visit to Latvia. Within the framework of the visit, M.Azarov will also meet President of Latvia Andris Bērziņš and Speaker of the Saeima Solvita Āboltiņa. This will be the first visit of the Prime Minister of Ukraine to Latvia after the restoration of independence of Latvia.
