Cold records for February 6 were broken in several locations across Latvia overnight

Temperature in Dobele dropped to minus 26.6 degrees Celsius overnight, beating the previous February 6 record for Dobele - minus 26.4 degrees, registered in 1985.

Temperature in Pavilosta decreased to minus 22.7 degrees Celsius, while the previous February 6 record was minus 20.7 degrees, also registered in 1985, and temperature in Bauska fell to minus 28.7 degrees (previous record - minus 27 degrees, recorded in 1965 and 1985).

The lowest reading was recorded in Vidzeme region's Zoseni, minus 31 degrees Celsius. Madona and Jelgava had minus 29 degrees, whereas Daugavpils and Gulbene - minus 28 degrees.

The highest temperatures last night were registered in Kolka and Ventspils - minus 19 degrees, whereas Riga had minus 20 degrees Celsius.
