Environment friendly citizen of the EUROPE
Within the framework of the project "GREEN LIFE" agency EKO MEDIA collaborating with 7 partners from Nordic and Baltic States issued the handbook "Environment friendly citizen of the Europe".

Communicating the Bioeconomy – The European Commission organises a workshop for journalists
The workshop Communicating the Bioeconomy is part of the European Commission’s actions to promote the Bioeconomy and to engage key stakeholders in the debate at European and national level. Industry representatives, Communications Officers and Journalists from across Europe will meet in Brussels, on 7th February, to debate the challenges of communicating the Bioeconomy.
Energy levels halved for greenhouses
European scientists have achieved a 50% reduction in the amount of energy used in the production of plants grown in a greenhouse. The EU funded project, known as EUPHOROS, has also reduced the use of water and fertilisers by 30% and pesticides by 10% while keeping the production standards and financial return for the growers high. This low-tech intervention will help reduce economic and environmental pressures that many growers have to face.

Open-ocean shark populations throughout the world are dropping, not only due to overfishing but also from inadvertent captures by fishermen in search of tuna. In an effort to protect these vulnerable animals, the MADE project receives €2 980 000 in EU-funding and is working to develop ways to reduce their unintentional killing.
