"Forest of Sound" ("Skaņu mežs") this September
This year’s "Forest of Sound" will feature French electronic musician Etienne Jaumet, stars of the American underground "Oneohtrix Point Never" and "Emeralds", dynamic disco-metallers "Chrome Hoof", and avanguard metal group "Liturgy", as well as "Byetone", Aoki Takamasa and Grischa Lichtenberger from the prominent German record label "Raster-Noton".
The venues for "Forest of Sound" will this year be the former "Press House" at Balasta dambi 3, the territory of the former "Red Star" factory, and the club "Melnā piektdiena" at Brīvības Avenue 193c.
Considering the venues for this year’s festival and its musical direction – contemporary interpretations of the musical styles of the past – the slogan of this year’s event is "Past Glory".
More information about "Forest of Sound" can be found at the festival’s homepage – http://www.skanumezs.lv.
